Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon will be among those taking part in a Tu B’Shevat tree planting event in the Jordan Valley, especially symbolic amid talks with the PA (Palestinian Authority) and growing US pressure on Israel to withdraw from that area.

Danon will lead the event, joined by local politicians and hundreds of supporters and residents of the Jordan Valley.

The official event will be held on Thursday, 15 Shevat from 14:00-14:30. At 14:30 a mass rally in support of the continued Israeli presence in the Jordan Valley is planned. The event is going to take place at the Jordan Valley memorial monument.
