In regards to the story first reported by YWN on Tuesday morning, NYS Senator Simcha felder released the following statement:
“It is nothing short of miraculous that this 10-year-old child was rescued virtually unharmed from a manhole on the corner of 49th Street and 13th Avenue,” said Senator Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn). “It is my understanding that this young man suffered minor lacerations on his right leg, was treated at Lutheran Hospital, and was released.
As a community, we all owe a great debt of gratitude to the brave heroes who risk life and limb each day to save others. I am immensely thankful to the NYPD, the FDNY, and Boro Park Hatzoloh for their swift and lifesaving responses today and every day. I also want to commend Verizon for providing the ladder which allowed this young man to be safely retrieved from the manhole.
I have spoken with the local police precinct and am investigating who is responsible for negligently leaving this manhole uncovered. Protecting our community, especially our children, is my top priority, and those responsible for this reckless act will be held accountable.”

What about the Verizon workers, that the Daily News says are the ones who pulled him out?

I wonder if tomorrow’s NY post headline will say that a Hadidic Boy from a Hasidic family, simiar to the Hasidic Dlumlord who everyone wanted dead, has fallem into man hole
This is a joke. It seems he did not really know what really happened. The 2 Verizon workers jumped into action and a few Hatzolah members helped pull him out and transport the boy.
Let’s get facts straight a verizon worker went down and brought him up. Para medics examined him and Hatzolah got in the way.
Let’s give praise to those that deserve it
When Yakov Oveinu had a Dream about a Ladder, it was actually a vision of his son Yosef being thrown into a hole and wishing for a ladder to get out.
Everyone needs a little simcha in their life.
From an eyewitness:
Hatzoloh asked the Verizon guy to bring his ladder. When the boy was on his way into Hatzoloh, is when FDNY and NYPD arrived.
By the way a police car was parked by the manhole with a police lady supposed to be watching the manhole, but because of the rain she was sitting inside and (texting?) and didn’t believe it when she was told a boy fell in, until she came out and saw him there.
