Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday stated the report given to Israel by Hizbullah does not provide conclusive evidence pointing to the status of Ron Arad. Barak stated that efforts to determine what happened to Arad must continue.

Nevertheless he stated, Israel remains morally bound to go through with the Regev-Goldwasser prisoner exchange deal to bring the soldiers back home.

On Sunday, Israel Prison Authority officials indicated the prisoner exchange deal will take place on Wednesday. The actual exchange is expected to take place in Rosh HaNikra.
