MORE ELIMINATIONS: Iranian Scientist Is Poisoned, IRGC Officer “Falls Off Roof”

An Iranian missile scientist who died last week was intentionally poisoned, the Iranian opposition site Iran International reported over the weekend.

Dr. Ayoob Entezari, an aerospace engineer who was involved in Iranian drone and missile development, died at a hospital in the city of Yazd after attending a dinner party. A statement sent on behalf of the authorities to the family called him a “martyr,” a term used for those killed by Iranian enemies.

Iranian authorities say that the “assassin” – the host of the dinner party – fled the country after hosting the fateful dinner.

According to Middle East analyst Jason Brodsky, in 2019, Enterazi gave a tour of his workplace, the Ghadir Industrial Turbines Company (GITCO) factory, to then-Iranian president Hassan Rouhani.

The report of Entezari’s death came only a day after the report of the “accidental death” of Col. Ali Esmailzadeh, a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Force Unit 840 in the city of Karaj.

Official Iranian news outlets reported that Esmailzadeh was found dead after falling from the roof of his home. The Revolutionary Guards claimed that Esmailzadeh committed suicide and even gave his family a suicide note they claimed he left. However, according to Iran International, those who were responsible for his death were Revolutionary Guards members themselves, who suspected him of espionage, and specifically leaking information that led to the elimination of senior IRGC official Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodayari in Tehran about two weeks ago, which was attributed to Israel.

Esmailzadeh and Khodayari were close colleagues, and according to the report, following Khodayari’s assassination, IRGC officials became suspicious that Esmailzadeh played a role in Khodayari’s death by leaking information and staged his suicide in order to eliminate him.
