Senior officials in Shomron joined a high-level Housing Ministry delegation on a visit to the area including Minister Uri Ariel. The visit took place last week, on Thursday Rosh Chodesh Shevat 5774.
Ariel said “In the merit of cooperation between us and Hashem’s assistance we will succeed in stabilizing housing prices as well as lowering them.”
The visit included Itamar, where they met with community leaders as well as rabbonim from the yeshiva including Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avichai Ronsky, a former IDF Chief Rabbi.
In Har Bracha they visited the site where homes are planned and the officials observed a new construction method that reportedly cuts the cost of housing significantly.
From there they went to Har Eival where they met with students in the Eretz Yisrael Institute are studying. They headed south to the Binyamin Council area of Shomron, stopping at the newly rebuilt site of the Mishkan at Shilo.
Ariel explained he remains committed to building affordable housing to alleviate the critical apartment shortage that exists in Israel today.
