The Committee for a Mehudar Eruv, under the leadership of Rav Yaakov Yitzhak Ruchman, is working to extend the mehudar eruv concept to outer areas of Yerushalayim.
One of the considerations has been to seek to accommodate many people who would like to make their way to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on Shabbos. After years of tireless work, in the coming days, the project is being completed. The mehudar eruv will also include the most western neighborhoods in the capital.
To date, the mehudar eruv reaches HaPisga Junction and it encompasses Bayit Vegan. Committee officials are pleased that the mehudar eruv is being significantly extended to permit those who do not rely on the Rabbanut eruv to now have an eruv they deem acceptable on Shabbos.

what is the difference (halacha – not politics) between the Rabanut and the Mehadrin Eiruv?
