[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE] The end of an era, indeed! Mike Bloomberg left City Hall for the last time after serving as Mayor of New York City for 12 years. Mr. Bloomberg was cheered by dozens of staff and supporters lined up at the steps of City Hall Wednesday afternoon, as he walked down the steps for the last time.
The outgoing mayor looked emotional as he waved goodbye and shook hands, before hopping on the 4 train to spend New Years Eve with family and friends.
Bill de Blasio will officially take oath of office at midnight, in a private swearing-in ceremony, surrounded by his family at his Park Slope residence.
Goodbye!

It wouldve been nice to see him go years ago.
Thank G-d he’s finally left. So long Mayor Egoberg. No more getting involved in other peoples affairs!!!
in my opinion, he did a great job and brought back NYC from the edge of ruin and despair.
Let us see if the new guy can keep NYC afloat.
He left the city with no deficit, lets see how long it takes before the city in is debt. He was a business man, this guy reminds of Obama.
