Syag: On a serious note, it would be political malpractice for any Dem to “forget” about Trump since he has become the central focus of the Republican party. Even historically “normal” Republicans have now reached the point where they are obligated to assess every word/action in terms of a Trump response. There is no longer any principled approach to policy or voting…just whether or not it will please Trump. I wish more were obsessed with this evolution in our political system and respond as they see appropriate. While Biden is clearly a disappointment to many of us, we truly believe (and thus our “obsession”) that another 4 years of Trump would be an existential issue for our democracy.
