Despite a very vocal criticism of various government agencies alleged to have failed in preparing for and responding to the recent blizzard, the Knesset voted against launching a parliamentary investigation into the matter.
Opposition leader MK Yitzchak Herzog feels a parliamentary investigation into the failures of local government is in order, for he is not pleased with how the blizzard was handled on a number of levels. However, his fellow lawmakers are not in agreement as the initiative was voted down.
