NEXT LEVEL SICK: New Jersey to Require SECOND GRADERS to Learn About Gender Identity

As part of New Jersey’s education standards, teachers will be required to teach students in 2nd grade about gender identities when the new school year begins this fall.

The standards were first put in place in 2020 but are only going into effect this September. The education standards call for second graders to understand the “core ideas” that all “individuals should feel welcome and included regardless of their gender [and] gender expression.”

The “performance expectations” include talking about “the range of ways people express their gender and how gender role stereotypes may limit behavior.”

Sample lessons that have been distributed in New Jersey include teaching a first grader that he has “boy parts” but “feel like” a girl.

One of the lesson plans instructs teachers to “define gender, gender identity and gender role stereotypes… name at least two things they’ve been taught about gender role stereotypes, and how those things may limit people of all gender.”

Alexandra Wilkes, the New Jersey GOP’s communications director, said that “Governor Murphy thinks he knows better how to parent your children than you do.”

“The shocking, graphic materials taught to children barely old enough to read and write fly in the face of the Democrats’ insistence on the campaign trail last fall that critics of these new standards were exaggerating or even bigoted for raising concerns in the first place,” she said.

  1. New Jersey requires private schools to teach with “public school equivalency”. Next expect pressure to force Yeshivos to teach this horrible garbage.

  2. Governor Murphy thinks he knows better how to parent your children than you do But got reelected by slimmest of majority all because some misguided Lakewood big shots told their adherents to vote for murphy, because he [murphy] had stopped by to pay a visit to Lakewood Yeshiva to con them [Lakweood influencers].

  3. Exactly what Rav Avigdor Miller was talking about when he attempted to teach klal yisroel the centrality of a candidate’s views in who we choose who we vote for.

  4. FLASHBACK: YWN urging lakewood residents to vote for Murphy….

Moderators Note: FLASHBACK, YWN never told urged anyone to vote for anyone.

  5. The sad part is that the reason for the most part the Vaad of Lakewood or Agudah support a candidate in any form is for the lobbying angle of it as opposed to the moral angle of it. Jewish organizations are willing to stand with a candidate who has anti Torah or Jewish views just because that person is in a position of power (see Bob Menendez, De Blasio, Cuomo, Murphy, etc…).

The real unfortunate part in this particular example with Murphy is that had moral integrity been the pursued path of endorsement – its actually possible that Murphy could have lost. So now they get to deal with the fallout. Nebach.

Next time stand on the side of Torah Values not on the side of where you have connections or money. This is an unfortunate by product

  6. Its not just this. Evolution, public school garbage in the finest and frummest NJ yeshivos and Beis Yaakov divisions. They worry that if they move to Israel it will “ruin” their children but they sacrifice their children every day on the Mizbeach of a smooth easy life. The galus is repulsive unto itself, and if you are not reviled by New Jersey and its shmad everyone denies you are not a truthful person. An emesdige Yid picks himself or herself up and moves to a holy place in EretzYisrael. No more excuses unless gender identity is your next “sacrifice” you plan to make in the all important easy life you have planned out for yourself

  7. To jeff
You say if you refuse to make Aliya you will have to deal with life in Sodom. Are u kidding. Israel has gay parades in every major city. Forty per cent of Tel Aviv are gays according to the Israeli ambassador to America. Gay flags are hung all over Jerusalem right in front of the great synagogue. Give me a break.

  8. Jeff – you are dreaming if you think Israeli secular schools don’t or won’t follow NJ’s example.

  9. Just going to leave this here:

*yeshiva world news: To Not Demonstrate Our Hakoras Hatov And Vote NJ Governor Murphy Would Be Chillul Hashem*

“The whole world was thrown into turmoil from COVID…. and Lakewood has enjoyed unequaled freedom, our Mosdos Hachinuch have been unhampered and life has been close tom normal. This is not true about NY, Toronto, London, Yerushalayim or Bnei Brak. Mr. Murphy could have made our lives really miserable, and Bichasdei Hashem the Lev Melochim etc was favorable towards us….”

  10. Jeff Stuart – we can only daven that things won’t be like that in Eretz Yisroel, but don’t be naive about what the government and the begatz have planned for the country.

  11. Ummm just to clarify, only one school district plans on teaching about feeling like a girl with male genitalia- that’s not a state requirement. The state is only requiring to is that gender expression is a spectrum and people express their gender identity in unique, individual ways.

  12. Sometimes we need to look beyond the benjamins before we pull the lever.

Also we need to start thinking whose interests do the “askunim” have in mind when they endorse candidates. Who is getting the payoff? Which moisid is on the take? Who runs the non-profit but lives like a rich man? Is it from צדקה געלט or government grants?

  13. It’s ironic to me that YWN covers non-Jewish stories with the AP, which is part of the fake news establishment and supports this perversion, and yet you complain…

  14. Thank all the ask-o-nim who now get more than they asked for, with all the money they got.
NYS is now a lost churban as far as BoEd, and NJ was a place of refuge …until now. To quote HaRav S. Miller (Hgadol drasha): Whithout freedom of chinuch, you have no freedom. You cannot call this “The land of of the free” so Hoshato Avdei.

Until Mashiach, relocate to somewhere that has this necessary fundamental freedom like Florida.

  15. @Jeff, lol, because the reshaim havent come to your neighborhood?
    Who are you kidding?!
Its really irritating when people grab 1 specific Mitzva to hammer at everyone with, whether it be “aliya” (the term which demonstrates that the ‘mitzva ‘ aspect of this isnt the main focus) or techeiles or any other. There are certain things which are chok v’lo yaavor, and certain things which are all part of a biggr picture. Figure your stuff out!

  16. Are the ‘sample lessons’ and ‘lesson plans’ on the same level of requirement as those defined in the NJ Education Standards and Performance Expectations ?
Or are the sample lessons and lessons plans not requirements ?

  17. The education standards call for second graders to understand the “core ideas” that all “individuals should feel welcome and included regardless of their gender [and] gender expression.”

This part sounds fine and good. Children should be taught to respect and accept every individual no matter how they express themselves, and specifically not to tease or harass boys who act like girls or girls who act like boys. They should be taught that how they dress is between them and their parents, and how other kid dress is between them and their parents, and should not affect how they relate to them.

The rest of the standard is pretty bad, though. There’s simply no reason for a school, especially a government school, to teach this stuff. If an individual child is having a problem in that area, their parents can be referred to counseling options, most of which will advise letting the kid express themselves and hoping for the best. It’s normal for children to roleplay and pretend, and in almost all cases if you play along with them but don’t do anything stupid like hormones or surgery, they will grow out of it and turn out fine.

  18. And you have the leadership of Lakewood and and other “ulta orthodox” groups to thanks for helping this country and the whole world turn into sdom. They need their free money flow so that they can stay pure in their yeshivos while the rest of the world rots. Selfishness is at complete odds with ruchniyus. You can not be spiritual at physical and spiritual expense of others. This gender identity is only the beginning. Watch is get way worse and fast!

  19. Milhouse,

So little Baruch should be able to come to yeshiva in a dress and insist on being called Bracha, to allow for “normal roleplaying and self-expression” and since “how other kids dress is between them and their parents”?

    Have you lost your mind?

  20. Jeff:
Oh. Israel, Holy Israel. Pride parades, women of the wall, Eilat, Dizengoff street like the old times square…hmmmm.

  21. Filthy demented DemonRat perverts, need to be treated exactly as you would rabies infected sewer rats, because that’s exactly what they are. And much more dangerous.

  22. GadolHadofi: Yeshiva, no. But public school, absolutely yes. If his parents are fine with it, then it’s none of the school’s business to say otherwise.

Even in yeshiva, if Boruch shows up in girl’s clothing he should be sent home and his parents asked to send him back dressed appropriately, but his classmates should immediately be told in no uncertain terms that they are not to tease him, call him names, or in any other way mistreat him for the way he feels or expresses himself. They should be taught about kovod habrios, and about mai desani loch lechavrach lo sa’avid, and to respect other people’s choices even if you don’t agree with them, just as you expect them to respect your choices that they don’t agree with.

  23. Your entire comment has been deleted. Facts are facts. Every comment trashing YWN – THOUSANDS OF THEM EVERY MONTH – are approved and never ever censored. You falsely accused YWN, and continue to post vicious sheker. Hence your username ‘fake maven”.

    Good luck.

  24. MODERTORS NOTE: Your sheker filled hate comment has been deleted. Want more sheker? Here is what you wrote:

“While it is correct that YWN has not explicitly called to vote for Murphy, here are links to a few articles penned by YWN. Each and every one of them are in favor of Murphy and critical of Ciattarelli. By painting one candidate favorably and the other unfavorably, it is quite obvious that YWN was advocating for Murphy.”

NOT ONE of the links you provided has ONE WORD editorialized by YWN. One article simply published a letter written by Hagaon HaRav Uren Reich, one was a letter written by the BMG Roshei Yeshiva, and the third was an article simply saying the Murphey visited Lakewood mosdos and organization.

Not one word OF your false accusation (direct quote of you, the Shakran) “Each and every one of them are in favor of Murphy and critical of Ciattarelli”.

You are not only baal motzei shem ra and a shakran gamur, but you clearly are delusional, and without a question a pathological liar.

    Refuah Sheleima.
