The Shurat HaDin organization is calling for the cancellation of the appointment of Prof. Gabriella Shalev as Israel’s new ambassador to the United Nations.

According to officials in Shurat HaDin, Shalev is a founding member of the left-wing B’tselem human rights organization and is therefore unable to defend Israel’s position vis-à-vis the Palestinian Authority. Shurat HaDin adds Shalev lacks the political experience and insight for the post.
