Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba apologized on Tuesday night after accusing El Al of skirting around international sanctions on Russia by accepting funds from a Russian payment system called Mir.
“While the world sanctions Russia for its barbaric atrocities in Ukraine, some prefer to make money soaked in Ukrainian blood,” Kuleba tweeted. “Immoral and a blow to Ukrainian-Israeli relations.”
El Al said the accusation was inaccurate, as it had stop accepting Mir payments on February 28, adding that Kuleba had not checked the facts before posting his “misleading tweet.”
Kuleba then responded by apologizing for his mistake.
“Indeed, the ‘Mir’ payment button remained on the website, but the use of it was blocked,” Kuleba acknowledged. “I am grateful to El Al for its important humanitarian operations and convey my apologies.”

Ukraine is soaked in the blood of millions of Jews and this guy has the chutzpah to talk about Jews this way?! The only ones Israel and Elal should be saving are Jews in Ukraine and Russia. For the rest: ידין בגויים מלא גויות מחץ ראש על ארץ רבה. We pray for that every Shabbos after the 300,000 + Jews the Ukrainian Bogdan Chelminki killed.
Never fails!
When lost for answers, blame the Jews!
Typical goy attitude!
Agree that this vile comment NEVER should have been made. However, up until a year or two ago, there would never have been a retraction and apology so there is a least some marginal progress.
Check out the Ukrainian voting record in the UN on issues relating to Israel- for 2020/2021. Its dismal. And Zelensky has the chutzpah to criticize Israel and express his disappointment in not getting more ammunition from Israel. He has hurt Israel terribly and as a Jew married to a shiksa, he shows his poor middos.
