Some of the hardest hit communities throughout Yehuda and Shomron in the weekend snowstorm are the ‘Yishuvei Gavei HaHar’ as they are called, yishuvim including Har Bracha, Yitzhar and Itamar.
Realizing the extent of the snow accumulations and the dire situation following days without electricity and water, the IDF stepped in and had the air force use a helicopter to drop emergency generators into communities to permit residents to begin to thaw out.
