Deputy Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan was among the many owners of four-wheel drive vehicles who volunteered his vehicle and time to transport stranded Jerusalemites.
Along with many other SUV owners, the deputy minister rescued motorists stranded in freezing vehicles as well as transporting people to city hospitals. He and others responded to pleas from police and EMS agencies that realized their fleets were not capable of addressing the storm alone.
Kikar Shabbos reports the deputy minister stated “it warms one’s heart to see so many citizens step forward to help in a time of need…” Ben-Dahan concluded “בעז”ה עוונותינו כשלג ילבינו”.
