At approximately 12:30am on Friday evening, Deputies from the Sullivan County Sheriff’ Office were called to the scene of a seven car collision in front of 288 Old Liberty Road in the Town of Thompson. That location is approximately 1/2 mile north of the Village of Monticello. At the scene deputies found a white Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled over on its side with several occupants inside.

The Jeep was traveling southbound towards Monticello when the driver lost control and struck six parked cars adjacent to the Rosewood Bungalow Colony.

The Monticello fire department responded and helped the occupants out of the vehicle.

Miraculously these were no injuries in the crash. The driver, Alex Rein, age 22, of Monticello was arrested for DWI and driving with a suspended license.

He was released on bail to appear in the Town of Thompson court on July 28th at 5:00PM.
