While there is no official response to the Pentagon statement quoted by ABC regarding an imminent Israeli attack against Iran, the report states that Iran is quite close to obtaining enough enriched uranium to build a nuclear bomb, the hard fact which prompted the statement.
Adding to the theory is the deployment of Iranian ballistic missiles pointed towards Israel, with the nuclear plant in Dimona being a possible target.
Lastly, the major air force exercise in June simulating an assault against a target 1,500 kilometers from Israel, including a complex commando ground rescue operation to extricate forces from hostile territory.
Speaking in Greece on Tuesday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated, “The international community must not allow Iran to go nuclear.”
