Jackk – hi. I have read not one post on this thread and am not here to join the conversation. I wanted to contribute to you personally some info given to me by health care providers (first hand) in one of the biggest health care systems in my area. It is in response to this line of yours that was quoted to me by someone involved in this topic:
“As of this week, about 1,800 Americans a day are dying of Covid; the C.D.C. expects that number to rise above 2,600. Virtually all are adults. If 95 percent were unvaccinated… “
I was in the hospital recently for a procedure and spoke to several health care workers, some who worked the covid units from the beginning. Here is what I was told. The patients dying of covid right now are not dying of covid, they are dying with covid. Covid is not the cause of the fatalities right now. Also, the reason so many unvaccinated are dying (and this was said by someone who advocates for vaccines, as do I) is because many with comorbidities are unable to vaccinate and it is also that reality that leaves them ill in the hospital, with or without covid. He did not say there are no people who are unvaccinated who are sick from covid, but he said that there are very few who are very sick because of covid, that the percentage of unvaxxed to vaxxed is closer to 60-40 and that covid is not sending people to the ICU, intubation or ECMO.
These individuals who I spoke to are PRO vaccines, do not understand anyone ever turning one down, but they said that the portrayal of what is actually going on inside the walls of the hospital has not been realistic from day one (read: under either administration)
