After period of not speaking Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef and Rabbi Tzion Boaron are once again sitting at one-another’s side at meetings of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel Council.

Rav Boaron was the candidate selected or the post of Rishon L’Tzion in the Chief Rabbinate race, endorsed by Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar. The two were at odds with one another surrounding the election.

Baruch Hashem the two talmidei chachamim met and spoke at length on Sunday, 5 Teves 5774, ending that difficult period. The two rabbonim have had a good relationship in the past as a son of Rav Boaron was a talmid in Yeshivat Chazon Ovadia, which is run by Rav Yitzchak Yosef.

Kikar Shabbat reports that after Shas leader Aryeh Deri managed to mend fences with Rav Boaron, he then began working to bring the two rabbonim back together and it appears his efforts were successful.
