SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*IDF forces operating in PA-controlled Tulkarem on Tuesday apprehended a wanted terrorist involved in bomb attacks. An elite undercover border police unit surrounded his home and took him into custody.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Enemy State bill passes its third reading and becomes law.

*Egypt on Tuesday opened the Rafiach Crossing, which will remain open until Thursday.

*Israeli media sources are quoting unnamed “senior Defense Department officials” in the United States who fear Israel may be planning an attack against Iran this year.

*A distraught man poured flammable liquid on himself on Tuesday morning in the Housing Ministry, demanding to see the minister, seeking a solution to his crisis. A ministry representative met him.

*Violent anti security partition barrier at Na’alin involving left-wing supporters and Arabs. Injuries reported.

*Hundreds of Eretz Yisrael Faithful are planning to make their way to Kever Yosef in Shechem on Thursday despite security authorities announcing they will not permit the move.

*Arab MK Said Naffaa has filed a petition to the Supreme Court challenging the legality of the Enemy State Law which prohibits travel to hostile nations by lawmakers. One who violates it is banned from Knesset for seven years.

*28 PA residents found illegally in the Israeli Arab municipality of Um el-Fahm were taken into custody by border police along with a resident of the Israeli Arab community of Baka el-Gharbiya who employed them. 8 of the suspects are classified as “security risks”.

*Derailment early Tuesday resulted in cessation of train service between Tel Aviv and Haifa in both directions for the entire day. Thousands of commuters were stranded during morning rush hours. Buses were unable to accommodate the overflow.

*Day 21 of the protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office by members of them disabled community.

*PM Olmert on Tuesday visited the nuclear facility in Dimona, escorted by the facility’s director and the head of Israel’s Atomic Energy Agency.

*A 78-year-old Netanya woman was admitted to Ichilov Hospital, diagnosed with West Nile fever Health Ministry officials report.
