[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE] Speaking in am ore relaxed and compressible manner, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that stopping Iran’s nuclear program is not enough, Iran’s genocidal policy towards the Jewish State must change, too.
Addressing the Saban Forum in Washington via Satellite, Sunday morning, Prime Minister Netanyahu said the talks between the P5+1 and Iran, over the next 6 months, must include an “unequivocal demand” for Iran to not just tweak the “minutiae” of its nuclear program, but change its entire policy toward Israel.
“Iran is committed to our annihilation and I believe that there must be an uncompromising demand at the Geneva talks, for a change in Iran’s policy,” Netanyahu said. In other words, there needs to be not just a change in the capability of Iran to arm itself, but also a change in its policy of genocide. I do not think that I or anyone can exaggerate the threat that Iran poses to the Middle East.”
“Regimes with unlimited appetites act out their mad ideologies,” the Prime Minister said. “The Jewish people take seriously those who speak of our annihilation.”
Netanyahu thanked President Obama for what he called an “indispensable alliance” that has experienced unprecedented defense, security and intelligence cooperation between the two governments under their leadership.
Regarding Israel’s policy on Iran, Netanyahu emphasized that sanctions relief at this time would only undermine the talks. “A diplomatic solution is better than a military option, but a military option is required for diplomacy to succeed, as are sanctions,” Netanyahu said.
