Chevron Residents Want to Visit PA Areas

Suddenly, everyone wants to visit Chevron, especially the radical left-wing. Of late, the Breaking the Silence organization has stepped-up visits to the Chevron Kiryat Arba areas, a move that Jewish area residents and police view as provocative.

When the left-wingers were prohibited by police from entering the area, a move that resulted in confrontations with residents, the left-wing groups petitioned the Supreme Court, which ruled they may visit the area but are instructed to distance themselves from the residential areas such as the Avraham Aveinu neighborhood.

Taking the court ruling, Chevron residents Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Gavir submitted an almost identically worded petition asking permission to tour PA autonomous areas adjacent to Chevron, using the court’s ruling for Breaking the Silence to strengthen their position.

Justice Edmond Levy on Monday gave the state 45 days to respond to the petition.
