Good alternative but writing with a stylus is still digital, there is a different elemental feedback and feel to it. Also writing has been a traditional way of the world since the beginning. We dont approve digital typed Sefer Torah do we? There is just something to it and it would be a shame for this to be a lost art as the use for it declines.
You bring up a good point about Zelle payments, but I think one can argue for writing checks using the same points of paying with cash/writing a physical note, the fact that you dont need technology and you get the task done instantly, I guess the only technology you would need is a pen but thats solved if you carry one! If for whatever reason you have no data, or no battery on the phone or whatever, and dont have cash on you, you can still make a transaction with a check, pretty convenient. The only thing is I suspect banks will get rid of checks sometime in the future.
