Lapid Wants to Improve Conditions at Kever Rashbi

lapidFinance Minister Yair Lapid has signed an order that will place the responsibility for Kever Rashbi in the hands of the government agency established in 2011 exclusively. The committee recommended that the minister expropriate control from the vaad rabbonim towards improving services at the holy site.

Lapid stresses the government is in no way seeking to change the site or compromise its kedusha. He adds the daily operations of the site will be in line with the decision of rabbonim as is the case today but the government will work to improve conditions for the many visitors to the tziyun.

The Finance and Tourism Ministries are going to allocate funds towards improving conditions to the site, including access to the tziyun, especially focusing on what can be done for Lag B’Omer.

  1. Now that an official agency of the Government has gotten involved, we can confidently expect that the feminist extremists, Women of The Wall (WOW), will not be far behind, with demands that they be allowed to dance at the Kever RASHB”I on Lag Ba’Omer, just like the men.

  2. 11:47 AM. You claim to love Israel, #1, and plan to go there someday even as a gilgul (I had a good laugh at that one!). But you never answered when you have minute to learn if you are on here posting ALL. DAY. LONG.

  3. all i know is 2 years ago i had a great time

last year instead a yassamnik while fighting charedim stomped determinedly and crushed my toe and removed my big toe nail who were trying to enter the central bonfire complex

soo i dont want no government involvement at all when instead there should be a bunch of thousands of kids with reflector jackets and misaskim and magen david adom there is plenty of donors who have generously made things happen in the past

    like they did every year…

the last thing you want is snarling spitting human horses who hate your bloody guts

  4. For years my family enjoyed regular stays in Meron, regretting only the squalor that reigned at the Tziyun. My children put on impromptu music performances that attracted other vacationers and the landlords loved us.
Several years ago, this began to change. First, a chareidi neighbor ordered my children to desist from music as long as he and his family was eating, stating that the Shulhan Arukh so required (it does not). On the next visit, neighbors demanded an end to the music generally because the Shulhan Arukh prohibits music. Finally, the landlady pleaded with us not to let our children perform, fearing retribution from askanim and mentioning actual vandalism that had occurred. On this last visit, we encountered pashkvilim that chareidi guests had brought, denouncing the vile practice of bein hazmanim, encouraging the wearing of the sha’al, etc. Turned off by the whole thing, I went to daven in the Meron shul, only to find siddurim that were defaced, the readers can guess in what way.
How did “Baron” describe it above? “snarling spitting human horses who hate your bloody guts”?
