Everything is made of strings of energy instilled by Hashem and therefore without Him nothing can exist as stated by the Rambam in the beginning of Hilchas Yesodei Hatorah. Maybe these strings have to be revitalized.
The Rabbenu Bachaya in Kad Hakemach compares it to the lulav where the shedra, spine (Hashem) hold all the leaves, so if we remove the spine all the leaves fall, and it will not have any leaves.

Please help the simple ones among us understand what’s the understanding you are bringing to the rambam.
Also isn’t energy itself a creation of Hashem?

I’m not an expert on string theory, but I do find it fascinating that every single particle of matter is constantly in motion. Every electron is moving at all times. There is clearly an infinite energy source powering them all, and science cannot even begin to explain it.

The world was created from nothing, energy. If e=mc^2, so matter can be converted to energy, maybe energy can also be converted to matter.

This can be the meaning of מחדש בטובו בכל יום תמיד מעשה בראשית, who renews daily the act of creation by revitalizing these strings in everything.

Indeed, Einstein in his later work was motivated by the goal to show that there is one unifying theory of the world.

But I think the Big Bang theory was an even bigger (and simpler to grasp!) contribution to the Jewish-Greek dialogue whether this world was created or existed eternally.

R E: It’s not that one can be converted to the other. They are one and the same. As KM noted, though, string theory does not add to this understanding. Energy is energy. More pertinent is the fact that the most basic particles are constantly popping in and out of existence. On this level, there is no such thing as static existence.

The motion of electrons don’t require fresh energy. It requires energy to set it in motion. This is the basis of any orbiting body: angular momentum.

    *taps mic* who cares.

This whole line of thinking is irrelevant.
