Three armed thugs attacked two Yungerleit walking to Shul on Tuesday morning in the heart of the Montreal Frum community, YWN has learned.

According to a YWN reporter in Montreal, the three men were loitering in the streets between the Viznits and Skver Batei Midrashim looking for trouble, and at approximately 7:30AM stopped their first victim and demanded money. The man answered that he did not have, and they let him go.

Just a few moments later, a second Yungerman walking past the group was punched in the face, and fired upon multiple times in his face by a BB gun.

The first Yungerman quickly ran into the nearby Shul and called for help.

Two heroic brothers, Hersh Ber & Shmiel Weinberger ran out of the Shul and managed to apprehend two of the thugs, until the Montreal Police Department arrived and placed them under arrest. Numerous members of Montreal Chaveirim responded to the scene and assisted the Police in the search for the third suspect. After a short perp-search, the third suspect was found hiding in the nearby brush and arrested as well. The BB gun was also found nearby, and collected by police in their investigation.

The man who was shot was transported to the Hospital by Montreal Hatzolah in stable condition Boruch Hashem – with just some minor facial trauma.
