In a Wednesday hearing before the Senate Commerce Committee, the CEOs of Southwest and American airlines both appeared to question why travelers are being forced to wear masks while on aircraft.
“I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin environment,” Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly. “It is very safe and very high quality compared to any other indoor setting.”
“The statistics I recall is that 99.97% of airborne pathogens are captured by the [high efficiency particulate air] filtering system, and it’s turned over every two or three minutes,” Kelly added.
American Airlines CEO Doug Parker backed up his Southwest counterpart, saying, “An aircraft is the safest place you can be. It’s true of all of our aircrafts — they all have the same HEPA filters and air flow.”
Meanwhile, several House Democrats are calling for a federal vaccine requirement to fly, with Rep. Eric Swalwell saying it could significantly push up vaccination rates.

Everyone needs to wear masks on planes from babies that don’t want to wear them to people with a hard time breathing in one

But when the person in seat right next to you (- literally inches away from your face) sneezes or coughs,,,
Wouldn’t you want them wearing a mask?!
And wouldn’t your own mask prevent you from potentially getting whatever virus they might be carrying?!
Did he acquire his extensive medical and epidimiological expertise in business school or in flight school. Next time I need surgery Ill be sure to consult with an airline CEO.
Apparently when one eats or drinks, if they are infected with a contagious virus it will not spread. What kind of science is that?

CAN’T BELIEVE we are hearing from the outdated Mask fanatics again! Aren’t we all educated by now that this stuff doesn’t work as has been proven statistically and scientifically. UNLESS these all our Liberal YWN friends coming out of the wood works.

That’s why surgeons no longer need to wear masks. After all, “statistically and scientifically” there is no benefit to the patient undergoing surgery.
Indeed, “medical masks” are no longer “medical” – they are just cosmetic.
Don’t fly on planes
Don’t travel in vehicles
Don’t go to the bank
Don’t go to a grocery
Lock yourself in a basement closet fully masked and vaxxed.
And stay safe.
