Philippine Ambassador to Israel Mr. Generoso D.G. Calonge visited the ZAKA headquarters in Jerusalem and participated in the lighting of the Chanukah candles, together with the members of the ZAKA International delegation that recently returned from a humanitarian mission assisting in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. After receiving a briefing from the delegation about the scope of their work in the islands, the Ambassador said “we thank the State of Israel and ZAKA International for their fast response to help people affected by the typhoon. Without doubt, your activities helped save many lives.”
