There has not been a single confirmed case of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in New York City – or the United States, for that matter – yet New York City health officials issued a new mask advisory today, recommending all residents to don face masks regardless of vaccination status.
Health Commissioner Dr. David Chokshi said that he is “strongly recommending” all New Yorkers to wear a mask “at all times” when indoors and in a public setting, such as in a grocery, building lobbies, offices and retail stores.
“These include those who are vaccinated and those who have had Covid-19,” Chokshi said. “Higher quality masks can offer additional protection, and masks are still required for everyone in public transit, health care settings, schools and congregate settings.”
“We do anticipate detecting omicron in New York City in the coming days based on what we know about its global spread,” he added.

Kol hakovid! They say an ounce of prevention equals…I strongly encourage the governor as well to follow in coumos footsteps, that if and when it becomes necessary they should stop all indoor gatherings and minyanim and to make school again via phone.

When they mandate vaccines, some here scream they are not anti-vaxx they are just anti-mandate… This is just an advisory, not a mandate. But no, that somehow bothers you as well. Bunch of loonies.

When reading a reply to given story the first thing you think is ‘well, is he right or wrong’ and that’s based on whatever you have been reading, hearing or otherwise so there is really no point its just giving a comment to which the next person will have the same reaction and so forth. In NYC it is already mandatory to wear masks indoors (even before “omicron” arrived on the scene) regardless if you had all the shots including the booster. There are signs demanding that masks have be worn, despite having all the shots, on every single door to every store in Manhattan.
The circus is ongoing with the clown politicians and those in position of power grabbing as much power with these ridiculous mandates, some of them currently called “advisories”. They have many sheep under firm mind control.
Why are they so scared if they have vaccines? If they work, they are good . If not, stop making everyone taking them.
It’s a hard job, simultaneously trying to convince the unvaxxed that the vaccine is necessary for survival and the double vaxxed to go get more because you aren’t protected
