Former MK Rav Avraham Werdiger z”l was niftar in Shaare Zedek Medical Center on Wednesday, 24 Kislev 5774 at the age of 92. Rav Werdiger, who was a well known chareidi askan and lawmaker, began his Knesset career in the 6th Knesset in 1967. He retired from political life in 1996.
Rav Werdiger held many positions in public life, including deputy minister of Jerusalem affairs and chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee. He was a leading figure in Poalei Agudas Yisrael.
The niftar was the father of Chanoch Werdiger, the founder and head of the Tov party.
