A group of mothers on Friday morning held a rally at Erez Crossing to Gaza calling for the release of Gilad Shalit.

The group traveled in a vehicular convoy, flying yellow ribbons, telling reporters that are an apolitical entity, supported by fathers and many parents who just want to see Shalit released, permitted to return to his family.

Organizers Madi Cohen and Israela Shidlov of Moshav Kidron hope to hold similar solidarity rallies at major intersections around the country in the coming week.

The participants in the event called for the unconditional release of Gilad Shalit, who this week began his third year in captivity.
