Achdus mainly is what we are missing. And not just the temporary achdus when things are wrong. Thats good too but we need real achdus from the heart which is long lasting. Its funny how so many different sections of Yiddishkeit that we have which mostly just started due to us being apart and scattered(and unsure the exact way of doing things), turned into minhagim that separate us even further by arrogance, pride, and sense of superiority over others minhagim or hashkafos.
I wonder if when the Yidden around the world created/adopted these minhagim if they had intended for them to stay for generations on end or they just intended for them to be temporary until the Yidden reunite and determine what the original minhagim were. It seems they stuck around and now that we are united we bicker over “the right way” of doing things, or “the right nusach to daven” and on and on. This is what separates us unfortunately and Yidden just cant seem to get past the type of Yarmulka one wears, or the type of hat, or nusach tefilla one davens, or yom tov minhagim and so on, and its a real shame that we are not united completely with a full heart. We are even separated by neighborhoods which I understand is comfortable for everyone to be with their own, but it would have been greater for us to diversely live together indifferent.
