Avreich Rav Alter Kaufman z”l fell from a ladder on Tuesday 16 Kislev. His injuries were significant and his condition deteriorated until the father of 10 was niftar. In just five weeks, Rav Alter was to bring his son to the chupah.

Rav Alter was niftar on Wednesday evening after his condition deteriorated. He sustained a serious head injury in the fall a day earlier in Beit Shemesh while trying to make a repair in the Old Beis Yaakov School on Ohel Yehoshua Street.

Ichud Hatzalah and Hatzalah teams worked to stabilize the victim, who was transported to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, listed in serious condition upon his arrival. He had intracranial bleeding and despite tenacious efforts by the medical team his condition continued to deteriorate.

The levaya was held on Thursday morning, 18 Kislev 5774.
