A Jewish frat house at George Washington University in Washington, DC was broken into Halloween night and vandalized, including a printed toy Sefer Torah that the perpetrators apparently believed was real.
According to initial reports, the vandals broke into the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity – the only Jewish fraternity in the university – tore the “sefer torah” apart, and poured detergent on it.
It was not immediately clear if the frat house suffered any other damage or vandalism.
Sadly, and to no one’s surprise, George Washington University has not yet publicly commented on the anti-Semitic incident, nor has any mainstream media outlet acknowledged it.
Anti-Semitic incidents on college campuses across the United States have been steadily increasing over the past few years. A September report titled “A Growing Threat: Anti-Semitism on College Campuses” found that nearly half of current college students said that anti-Semitism on campus is getting worse, and 79% of those surveyed had experienced or heard firsthand about another student making offensive or threatening anti-Semitic comments.

Since these wicked evil savages have no idea of the difference between a paper toy Sepher-Torah & a real Kosher Parchment Sepher-Torah and we have a rule of מחשבה כמעשה אצל נכרים hence that these evil wicked savages must be punished as if they had destroyed a real Kosher Sepher-Torah.
Most of the local radio and TV stations posted stories about the vandalism early this afternoon, but the Washington Post didn’t post the story on its website until this evening. Also the GW VP of Student Affairs tweeted about this “disgusting anti-semitic attack” early this afternoon, but the University President didn’t issue a press release condemning the attack until this evening.
How can “Jewish” and “frat house” be used together? That is sickening, indeed.

how does one reply to such hatred today other than stating they the culprits deserve to be held up in front of the world and condemned__this is on Biden’s shoulders and may this piece of garbage be charged for the evil he brings….shame on America…..thank G-d I am not an American__
I am pretty sure that Tau Kappa Epsilon is not a “Jewish” fraternity. As far as I know, it is non-denominational. Perhaps the TKE chapter at George Washington University has many Jewish members, but it is not formally “Jewish.” As for the desecration of the Torah in the frat house, yes, that is clearly anti-Semitic.
To ujm: There have been Jewish frats and Jewish frat houses since the early 20th Century. The Jews in them are, mostly if not entirely, assimilated, secular and not frum. I would be curious to know where you were born and where you grew up. You seem substantially unfamiliar with American history and culture, not that there is anything wrong with that.
