De Blasio To Stop By ‘Talking Transition’ Tent

de+blasio+victoryMayor-elect Bill de Blasio plans to stop by a tent in Lower Manhattan where New Yorkers are offering him advice about the city’s future.

The two-week “Talking Transition” project is sponsored by 10 philanthropic foundations.

The 15,000-square-foot tent has a message wall where residents can post sticky notes and computers to register their thoughts electronically.

The messages express opinions on everything from schools and health care to making food more affordable.

De Blasio plans to visit the tent Wednesday afternoon. His transition team says the comments will help shape and inform his agenda.

The tent is hosting discussion sessions on various issues that are being streamed online. Two mobile kiosks are traveling around the city collecting residents’ comments.

Ideas also can be submitted online.
