A soldier serving in the elite Sayeret Golani infantry unit has been arrested for allegedly painting anti-Arab graffiti on a bus belonging to the Afikim Company. Police arrived at the soldier’s base on Tuesday, 16 Kislev 5774 and arrested him. The soldier was turned over to police in Ariel in Shomron. The soldier presented police with an alibi but police are seeking to remand him nonetheless. The soldier is being represented by Honenu.

The soldier and his brother are also accused of damaging a police car. The brother’s remand was extended on Tuesday for an additional eight days.

The Afikim Company transports hundreds of Arab workers and many if not most of the company’s bus drivers are Arab.

Both the soldier and his brother deny the allegations against them.
