MDA Earns High Popularity Ratings

mdaA recent survey seeking to determine how Israeli citizens feel about different organizations shows the IDF remains the beloved child of the nation. The survey also shows that Magen David Adom, Israel emergency medical service provider, is rated very high among the nation’s residents.

The TRI survey was taken ahead of the soon-to-open Sderot Conference, next week. 505 internet surfers over the age of 18 were questioned, with TRI stating participants in the poll represent a cross section of the nation’s Jewish population.

The participants in the study were asked to rate a number of organizations from 1 to 5, corresponding to a scale of 1-100.

The IDF leads the survey with a 90% rating. MDA follows in second place with a rating of 86.8%.

Uzi Dayan, a retired IDF major-general and retired head of the Intelligence Corps heads the Sderot Conference, which among other issues addresses volunteerism in the nation.

Dayan feels the index is a “critical or supportive” statement regarding Israeli society, “for better or worse”, showing most residents want a more patriotic society with traditional Zionism which knows how to appreciate people and organizations with traditional Israeli values.

Youth organizations earned an 80.4% rating, hospitals 67.6%, and the nation’s Supreme Court, 58%.

  1. IDF has a role among zionists what learning Torah has among Yidden. Among hareidi kids (anywhere, anytime) a little kid will “pretend” to be an adult by picking up his father’s sefer(as likely as not upside down) and pretend to read. Among seculars (anywhere, anytime) little kids pretend to be adults by imitating sodliers or athletes. The goal of zionism was to lower Jews to the level of the nations, and except for the hareidim, it has been a success.
