Research: The ultra-Orthodox are happier than the secular by a considerable margin. (MAKO, Cheshvan, 5782 – Oct, 2021)
A new study has found that compared to seculars, the ultra-Orthodox are happier. The study joins a series of studies in Israel and around the world that repeatedly demonstrate that there is a positive impact of a religious life on the overall experience of happiness in life.

One recent study showed Evangelical Christians were generally “happier”, “less stressed” etc. than their non-evangelical Christian brethren with common theme that they left all their issues in the hands of “G-d” who would ultimately resolve their issues.

October 17, 2021 12:26 pm at 12:26 pm #2016845tzfatishaParticipantthe question surely is what is it about being ‘religious’ makes one happier?
Is it the community support and feeling of belonging or is it feeling a connection to the Divine or something else?
and what do we mean by ‘happier’ anyway?
are we just falling into the ‘American Dream’ of ‘pursuing happiness’ rather than connecting to what’s really important in life?October 17, 2021 12:28 pm at 12:28 pm #2016846tzfatishaParticipantsurely the question is what is it about being ‘religious’ that makes us ‘happier’
is it all the community support and feeling of belonging or is it a feeling of connection with the Divine, or something else?
and what do we mean by ‘happier’ anyway…?
aren’t we in danger of just following the American Dream of the ‘pursuit of happiness’ rather than connecting to what’s really important in life?October 17, 2021 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm #2017131tunaisafishParticipantbemes what does it mean people are happy. i remember seing a teshuvah of someone asking how reshoim can be happy and he was saying how a lot of reshoim say they are happy and alot of the time they are covering up internal emotion. if someone says there happy dosent mena noting
