Amid much audible criticism, shouts of protest and jeers from the left-wing and Labor MKs in Knesset on Monday, 8 Kislev 5774, MK Avigdor Lieberman was sworn in as foreign minister once again following his acquittal on all charges.

For Lieberman’s opponents, democracy and the judicial system are only acceptable when they back the agenda of political left-wing, with Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich incensed over Lieberman’s acquittal.

Not too long after taking the oath of office Lieberman arrived at the Jerusalem home of his old friend, Shas leader Aryeh Deri, where he celebrated re-assuming his senior cabinet post. Accompanying Lieberman was his wife and his candidate in the Jerusalem mayoral race, Moshe Leon, was present too.
