Clinton To Obama: Let Americans Keep Canceled Health Plans

clobFormer President Bill Clinton says President Barack Obama should find a way to let people keep their health coverage, even if it means changing the new health insurance law.

Clinton says Obama should “honor the commitment that the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they got.”

Obama has come under pressure in recent weeks as millions of Americans started receiving insurance cancellation letters. The president had repeatedly said that people would not be forced to change their insurance under the new law.

The White House says it is working on changes that would ease the impact of the cancellations for some people. But the fixes under consideration are administrative actions, not congressional changes to the law.

Clinton spoke in an interview with the website OZY Media, posted Tuesday.

  1. If Bubba is saying it then Barack Hussein Ovama is trouble. The American sheeple have grown tired of Obama’s wordplay and blaming Republicans and Bush.

  2. Obama can’t fix it without Congress passing a new law. And the House will not pass a small fix without changing the law in substantial ways, something Obama won’t accept. So there is no hope for changing the law.

  3. The only way to fix this is to direct the insurance companies to delay any cancellations for non-compliance of the ACA for one year. This gives people more time to enroll in the exchanges or seek new health insurance options. Simple and effective. No need to change the entire law.

  4. The problem is that the millions of us who lost our policies or have been told that our policies will be cancelled at renewal time can’t go back to our non existing policies. This means we have a new policy which, according to the law means that we become wards of the state, i.e, we go on Obamacare aka Medicaid.

FULL repeal of ObamaDoesntCare AND of Obama are the only options.

As for those senators and congressmen who are up for reelection in 2014, they need to be held accountable for their yes vote on this disaster of a Bill and not be allowed to weasel out of it. They must be held accountable!

  5. No. 4: Your no-compromise approach to this and so many other issues is the reason that Republicans face the prospect of becoming a very small and ineffective minority party. As a liberal, I urge you to keep up the good work.
