Rav Shlomo Yehudah Zilbiger, z’l, the grandson of the Gaon Av Beis Din of the Eidah HaChareidis, HaGaon HaRav Tuvia Weiss, was niftar of the coronavirus on Simchas Torah at the age of 43 at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
The niftar was born in Manchester to his father, HaRav Avraham Zilbiger, the Rav of the Beis Hamedrash HaChadash in Manchester, and his mother, the daughter of HaRav Weiss.
After he married his wife, a resident of Ganei Geula whose grandfather learned with HaRav Weiss in London, Rav Zilbiger, z’l, settled in the Givat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem, near his illustrious grandfather.
Rav Zilbiger was very close to his grandfather and learned in his kollel until the end of his life. He also assisted in transcribing and publishing HaRav Weiss’s divrei Torah.
The niftar left behind 12 yesomim, the youngest born only a month and a half ago, and the oldest an engaged daughter, whose wedding is scheduled to be held in the near future.
The levaya took place on Motzei Simchas Torah and left from the home of HaRav Weiss on Rechov Givat Moshe in Jerusalem. The niftar was buried on Har HaZeisim.

Did he fail to get his vaccination?
I’ll bet he wasn’t vaccinated.
I’ll bet he wasn’t treated properly.
A good friend of mine got Covid. He was taken to Sinai Hospital. A pharmacist friend called the attending doctor and asked him to prescribe ivermectin. He beefed, “I will bring it to his room! Many people have been saved from it in my experience!”
“No!” What did he have to lose? How much money did he get for the hospital for another unnecessary Covid death?
Some states in India gave out ivermectin packets (with doxycycline, I think) for a cost of $2.65 per person as a prophylactic.
The amount of Covid deaths PLUMMETED.
But in Israel where 80% had one shot and 70+% had two, are now at 3 million “booster” shots and the death rate is skyrocketing! Starting from the week that the booster shot began!
Flat out that doctor was responsible for my friend’s death!
You can be sure that if he was unvaccinated, that fact would have been mentioned in the article.

Don’t know way the moderater allowed the above comments to pass! They are hurtful and unnecessary speculation. After a person is niftar it makes no difference what was the cause/reason. It was decided from above.

Don’t know if he was vaccinated or not (I will assume he WAS, since the media loves to point out the deaths of those that weren’t vaccinated)
Be that as it may, you could bet that he wasn’t given the proper treatments as soon as he had symptoms of COVID.

Honestly, the comments before mine are absolutely disgusting. Whether he was or wasn’t vaccinated, his death is tragic in any case. Instead of casting blame on the niftar for his own death, maybe share a sentence or two expressing your sorrow and pain for an almanah and 12 yesomim. What the actual heck is wrong with you people.

Bs”d The reason it is important to know if a prominent person who died of Covid , was vaccinated or not, is because people have to know how effective the vaccine is, especially in a relatively young person. The person who wrote that he was vaccinated : is this accurate info? People have to know if they are still vulnerable or not, and if the hospital was at fault. Otherwise it would be better to not mention covid at all, so as not to offend anyone. Also, people keep saying in Boro Park, that everyone must have had Covid by now, and no-one hears of people getting it again, in any significant numbers. That’s why people here justify the huge crowds by Rebbes, the normal large- size chasunahs, and complete disregard for any safety measures against Covid. If it is all over, according to the frum world, why are people still dying in the Eretz Yisroel?
You ignorant, insensitive cloth heads! People who’ve had the vaccine – catch COVID too – and die! People who haven’t had the vaccine, catch COVID and die. How far does this have to go before people see with their own eyes that there’s no surefire prevention. And become a LOT more sensitive to tragedy. Real people are brokenhearted over every death, irregardless.

He is my distant relative, my great grandfather was also named Yehuda Silbiger. From the city of Osweicim, or known as Oshpitzin.
