Looking for a recommendation for fresh bagels. Only need 6 on Sunday morning so I don’t want to drive far.

There’s Gombos in South Fallsburg.

From yenavelt (where you are located) probably agnostic whether you drive to Liberty/South Fallsburg or Monsey for your bagel.
P.S. Either way go for an everything bagel with light cream cheese. Best of all worlds.September 15, 2021 5:25 pm at 5:25 pm #2008243nishtdayngesheftParticipantBloomingburg is 15 minutes from Middletown
September 17, 2021 10:49 am at 10:49 am #2008519commonsaychelParticipantthere is a gas station just off exit 130 that has a reliable hechser and makes great sandwiches, try the nova lox and bagel. its 20 minutes from Middletown

While this may be yenavelt, I can get O-U mass produced bagels which are satisfactory. But who knows where and when they were baked.
September 17, 2021 3:37 pm at 3:37 pm #2008571Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant> who knows where and when they were baked.
they would have a date and a SKU number on them that will lead you to the factory.
OU would be able to tell you that. You may still have them pas isroel if they were baked before yom kippur and OU made an arrangement.
September 17, 2021 3:37 pm at 3:37 pm #2008578nishtdayngesheftParticipantShouldn’t be too hard for you to google the kosher market there. There is a whole Jewish community. I’ve been to the Pizza Store.
September 17, 2021 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm #2008600GadolhadorahParticipant“But who knows where and when they were baked….”
Totally agree. C’v they might have been baked in Willy, BP or even Monsey. They also might be frozen chometz sh’avr alov h’pesach or even worse….
September 17, 2021 5:52 pm at 5:52 pm #2008634Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantAlso, is more than 18 minutes drive qualifies as “fresh”?
September 24, 2021 1:36 pm at 1:36 pm #2009885OrangeCountyChapperParticipantIf one of the gas stations at Exit 130 has a hechsher, it wasn’t obvious from driving by. I wasn’t inclined to stop in every one.
I did get some nice fresh bagels at the Star Market in Bloomingburg. It wasn’t a full bagel shop experience as they only had plain ones, but they had a nice heimishe taste. I supplemented with O-U Everything bagels and all was good.
Thanks for your suggestions!
