Six Arab youths are in custody for allegedly causing a great deal of damage to matzeivos in a cemetery in Kibbutz Givat Ohz near Megiddo. A local resident arrived at the beis hachaim with his son and saw one of the assailants. He ran after him as they headed for the nearby village of Salim, about 1.5km from the kibbutz.

He apprehended the youth and brought him to the Um el-Fahm police station.

Kibbutz officials describe the damage as “extensive”, explaining many matzeivos were smashed.

Kibbutz members report this is the second such attack in recent years. Hamodia reports 20 matzeivos were smashed.
