Supreme Court Rejects Shalit Petition

gilad5.jpgIn an expected move, the Supreme Court on Monday evening rejected the petition filed by Noam and Aviva Shalit, the parents of Gilad Shalit. The three-judge panel’s decision was unanimous.

The state told the court that any delay in the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire would have a disastrous impact.

The distraught parents turned to the nation’s highest court in the hope of compelling the government to link the opening of Gaza crossings to Hamas’ release of their son. The parents explained to the court that the prime minister lied to them, explaining they were told there would be no Gaza ceasefire without Hamas first releasing Gilad. They added that the ministerial committee dealing with pertinent issues told them this would be the case as well, but in actuality, their son has been abandoned.

The court on Monday requested that they meet with Defense Ministry official Amos Gilad in the hope of learning enough about the ceasefire agreement to compel them to withdraw the petition but his was not the case. Mr. and Mrs. Shalit told the court on Tuesday that the answers provided by Amos Gilad were less than satisfactory and not compelling enough for them to withdraw their legal action. 2. It’s like trying to speak to the terrorist mastermind about one of his own. They’re all currupt.
May G-d watch over him and all of Israel.
