Hundreds of Rabonim, Bnei Torah and Baalei Battim of Manchester and further afield attended the Levaya of Harav Hagon Rav Yakov Yehuda Falk ZATZAL yesterday.
Although the niftar had been battling his illness for a year, his petira on Shabbos still came totally unexpected and shocked the whole kehilloh. The maspidim outside his house, outside Manchester Kollel and in Manchester yeshivah all bemoaned the loss of this great Talmid Chachom, onov and masmid.
Amongst the maspidim where his brother, the well-known Posek Harav Pesach Eliyohu Falk from Gateshead and his brother-in-law Harav Ahron Dovid Dunner from London.
He leaves behind his choshuve Rebbetzen, children, grandchildren, brother and sisters amongst whom – Rebbetzen Dunner of London and Rebbetzen (Mattisyohu) Salomon of Lakewood.

My parents are neighbours of the Choshuve Falk family. Reb Yaacov Yehuda ZTvK”L was a most humble and unassuming person, always greeting people with a smile and a kind word. During his terrible illness he continued his davening and learning schedule almost as normal, through terrible pain and sickness.
May the RS”O send a nechomo to his children, almonoh, and the whole family, and may he be a Meilitz yosher for them, Manchester and the whole Klal yisroel.
No, his brother Harav Pesach Eliyohu Falk from Gateshead wrote the tznius book, among many other books.

One may also mention that he was Ben-achar-ben descendant of the Pnei Yehoshua. His father was for years the main Mocher Seforim of Manchester, and played a role in the growth of the city into one of Europe’s major Torah centers.
From childhood on, he was a tremendous Masmid!
