WATCH: Biden Blames Afghanistan Army For Not Fighting Back; Stands By Decision To Exit

President Biden addressed the nation Monday, saying he stands “squarely behind” his decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan after having a presence for 20 years, while admitting that the fall of the country to the Taliban “did unfold more quickly than we had anticipated.”

The president, speaking from the White House Monday, said his administration has been “closely monitoring the situation on the ground in Afghanistan,” and is moving “quickly” to execute the new plans put in place.

“I stand squarely behind my decision,” the president said Monday. “After 20 years, I’ve learned the hard way, that there was never a good time to withdraw U.S. forces.”

“Truth is, this did unfold more quickly than we had anticipated,” the president said, a day after the Taliban took over Afghanistan, after his administration moved forward with a withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country, signaling the end of the United States’ two-decade-long effort to rebuild the nation.

“American troops cannot, and should not, be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves,” Biden said, adding that the U.S. has given “every tool they could need.”

“We gave them every chance to determine their own future,” he said. “What we could not provide them was the will to fight for that future.”

  1. Don’t you worry, this demented Alzheimer diseased treasonous hair sniffing pervert, will put the blame on Trump and of course white racism and global warming.
We should all pray for our beloved country, because it’s in deep trouble.
Cannot see how we can survive another three years of this treasonous Marxist America hating communist regime.

  2. The “massive collapse” is precisely because all that you and your evil goons think is to undo every great step that the BEST President we ever had successfully did. Look what your sheer hatred and utter stupidity accomplished.

  3. Guess what sleepy Joe, you’re so confident and proud of your ;latest lunacy, why not go over there, just to prove how safe it really is????

  4. I disliked the video on youtube and left… came back a few minutes later and my dislike was erased. I was able to dislike it again… youtube is change the likes/dislikes to meet their agenda…

  5. No one thinks it was a bad idea to leave Afghanistan. But the US looks ridiculous for thinking that the Afghan government could resist the Taliban for more than a minute.

  6. President Biden, please own up to your mistakes. We’re talking about 500 troops, seriously. No American troops have been killed in nearly a decade. They were only there to ensure that the Taliban don’t overrun this country, and renew their brutal radical reign over innocent civilians. There wasn’t even a mandatory draft. The scenes in Afghanistan are heart-wrenching, and America could’ve prevented that. Shameful.

  7. If your principal ally announced with great ceremony that they were surrendering and turning over control of the country to the enemy, would you keep fighting back?

  8. This collapse is a debacle with graver ripple effects

There are ways to lower , deescalate, and massage down a conflict step by step without being disgraced and without betraying those who relied on you or risked life to help you
    – America has been rather less than Stellar at that though
