An Israeli Arab resident of Jatt, a community in The Triangle, was sentenced to 17-years in prison on Tuesday for driving the suicide bombing to the Chadera shuk. Six people were killed in that attack, which left dozens wounded.
Fikiri Manzour, 29, was convicted of assisting the enemy during wartime, being an accessory to murder and attempted murder. According to the conviction, he met the bomber inside the Green Line and transported him with the explosives used in the attack.
Manzour told the court he is innocent and has no connection to the crime. The court rejected his contention that he was unaware of the bomber’s intentions when he drove him to the marketplace.
