This is what? Mark Levin (“The great one”) had to sat earlier on 770WABC:
Russian and France are slamming Israel today.? That’s right, it’s Israel’s fault that Iranian and Syrian terrorists ‘who call themselves Hezbollah and Hamas’ committed acts of war against it, and that Israel is finally defending itself.? Russia has been so helpful in our own war efforts, opposing? us? om the UN Security Council, playing a significant corrupt role in the so-called Oil for Food program, helping to arm the Iranians with nuclear technology, and obstructing our efforts to impose sanctions on North Korea.? France, of course, is a decaying country which can’t control rampaging Muslim immigrants in its own suburbs.? Our president today reiterated that Israel has the right to defend itself, but he added? a call for “restraint.”? What to make of this?? What does that mean?? The problem has been that both Israel? and? the United States have shown far too much restraint.? These are the same terrorist states that have been arming al-Qaeda with IEDs to kill our soldiers in Iraq.? These are the same terrorist states that have been safe harbor to al-Qaeda thugs, and allow the enemy to cross their borders to attack U.S. and Iraqi forces.? What’s with this “restraint” stuff?? ?
We continually warn Iran and Syria to make nice, but they won’t.? We continually issue threats, but we don’t lower the hammer.? This is incoherent.? If you don’t punish terrorism, you get more of it.? ? We don’t know how the current war between Israel and its enemies will play out, but “restraint” certainly isn’t serious advice for the president to be giving the victim.? Moreover, it cedes the moral high ground.? Should FDR? have urged Poland to show restraint when the Nazis invaded?? Should Harry Truman have showed restraint when demanding Imperial Japan’s unconditional surrender.? ?
I hate to observe that today we learned two indisputable facts: 1. the world will never be united against terrorism; and 2. the war in Iraq, and the predictable assault on our efforts by the Left in our country and in Europe, has taken a toll on our resolve.?
The Israelis seem to understand that they must act now, before the Iranians possess functional nuclear weapons.? ? And rather than sitting on the sidelines or worse, under-cutting the Israelis our? government should seize the opportunity to work with the Israelis and other willing nations to topple these regimes.? ? ? ? ?
A final word, for now:? It seems to me that there has been more than enough provocation by Iran and Syria for our military to take them out.? They’re killing our GIs.? Maybe those should be our bombers, fighters, tanks, and ground forces moving against these regimes as well.
