UTJ’s Gafni: “We Won’t Join A National-Unity Government”

United Torah Judaism chairman Moshe Gafni stated on Wednesday evening that his party will not join a Lapid-Bennett national unity government.

President Reuven Rivlin passed the mandate to form a government to Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid on Wednesday afternoon after he received 56 MK recommendations.

When Yamina chairman Naftali Bennett subsequently announced that he will make efforts to form a government with the centrist and left-wing parties, he also announced that he would welcome UTJ and Shas into the coalition.

Gafni promptly declined the offer and accused Bennett of intending to join the anti-Netanyahu bloc from the start. “Everything Bennett said can also be said about a right-wing government. Neither we nor them have 61 mandates to form a government.”

“None of us are fools,” Gafni said. “Bennett preferred a government with Lapid and not with Netanyahu from the beginning.”

That’s not true. The right has many more than 60. Anyone but Netanyahu could make a right-wing government very easily. His problem was simply that a lot of the right don’t trust him and refuse to go with him. They’d go with any other Likud leader.

  2. We have utmost respect & admiration for “Gimmel” gor refusing to sit with Laid & Co. and shall willingly vote again for “Gimmel”

Bennett, smotrich, are both phonies with no respect for authentic Yahadus (not to be confused with fact I certainly don’t support Sternbuch & co.)

  3. 147, Is that the royal “We?” Who appointed you the arbiter for adherence to authentic Yahadus? Members of the leadership of gimmel have helped to prevent the extradition of a sexual abuser and will not be able to serve in the Knesset from jail, iy’h.

Just separating from the eidah as God said in the Torah, is not sufficient

  4. 147:
Do you mean HaGaon HaRav Moshe Sternbuch Shlit”A, who probably learns more Torah in any one week than you have ever learned?
