Filing electronically with simple returns (income only perhaps with small 1099 income) should be fast since process is now automated. Anything else (aka paper returns, complex itemized deductions or deductions exceeding certain range, substantial cap gains or business expense deductions for Schedule C, etc.) almost certain to take several months.
