As is their annual “Minhag”, the Neturei Karta members living in Meah Shearim protested against the State of Israel on Thursday evening.
The group of around 200 people, many of them identified as local misfits, consisted of half adults, and half children. Some were wearing sackcloth as they mourned the 73rd birthday of Israel. Most were holding black flags, while others held Palestinian flags.
Some children held posters in Arabic, while others held signs in English.
One man holding a bullhorn and leading the massive protest, chanted remarks which were followed by the usual “Gevald!” reponse from the crowd.
In one of his remarks, probably well-rehearsed in front of a mirror, the man said “Tziyonim are worse than the Nazis, because they only killed bodies, and Tzoynim kill – and are killing Neshamos”.
The party ended off with the burning of Israeli flags.

The Palestinian flag is irrelevant to the truth, but the rest of it is mostly accurate.

The only problem I see here is them merging anti- Zionist with Palestinian activism. We are against Zionism but where does a Palestinian flag come in to the picture?!? Are they “kanuhim” or Palestinian activist?

Although we have to have Hakaras Hatov for the people who protect our land, learning Torah is even more of a protection. Eretz Yisroel was established by Yidden who escaped Europe and Middle Eastern countries in order to live a life as Jews with freedom. Being free doesn’t mean free of Torah and Mitzvos. The establishment of the ‘State of Israel’ has brought in ideologies and school curriculums that are Apikursus and lead the future generations further away from Torah and Mitzvos. Bnei Brak was built and paved by Gerrer Chassidim and the talmidim of the Baal Shem Tov built Tiveria. The generation of the “First Aliyah” were frum Yidden who fought and defended themselves and lost their lives to build the country. Refugees moved to Eretz Yisroel so they can be Jews free from persecution, not free from Torah and Mitzvos. What the State of Israel has done with the Yemenite children will never be forgiven or forgotten. Generations of Jewish children are growing up in a Jewish land not even knowing the words of Shma Yisroel. That’s what these people are fighting against.

Neturai Karta does not equal “Meah Shearim.” They are a small portion of Meah Shearim, and do not represent the beliefs of most people in Meah Shearim. Having said that, Tzionism is something bad, but it’s not Klal Yisrael’s worst problem anymore, if it ever was. Sinas Yisrael tops that, and always has, at least since the Second Bais Hamikdosh.

Let’s hear it for unbiased objective journalism. Any information on the psychologist who was there on the scene to professionally identify them as misfits? These arbitrary statements undercut the argument put forth.
I obviously don’t agree with these protesters, but I’m well aware that they regard Me (and most of You) as the misfits.

Yitzchak Rabin murdered fellow Jews with his own hands and boasted about it, and he wasn’t the worst of them. And they are definitely Hellenists, there’s no doubt about that.
It’s important not to live in a bubble. That doesn’t mean that we don’t call out these people when they’re doing things that are really extreme (and boy can they be extreme). But to insinuate that the concept that the Zionists attempted to spiritually destroy the Jewish nation (and some still are attempting as we see almost everyday) is extreme or a conspiracy is very untruthful.
